Halloween How to celebrate in ethical & sustainable ways Reduce your plastic waste and carbon footprint by buying treats from local businesses! Consider buying fair trade chocolates and/or check that chocolate and sugar comes from sustainable sources. Treats When throwing a Halloween party, try to use your own dishes instead of disposable ones. You could even stop by your local thrift store for some cheap dishes and give them away as party favors! Instead of buying cheap materials to show your love for Halloween, invest your time in shared seasonal activities. Watch scary movies, paint pumpkins with non-toxic or natural paints or carve them, visit a local pumpkin patch, and roast the pumpkin seeds! Activities Stop by your local thrift store to get a costume or find clothes to create a new costume. You could also make a costume out of upcycled materials. Or even better, reuse an old costume. Check out a past Trashin' show to get ideas at button below! Reusable Dishes Most Halloween decorations are reusable, but many are also not nature-friendly. For example, fake spiderweb can be hazardous to birds and other small animals. Please do your research before putting up certain decorations, or make your own decorations! Nature-Friendly Decorations Pick your pumpkins from a local pumpkin patch. Make sure to compost them at the end of their life. And if you decide to turn them in to Jack-O-Lanterns, make sure to use the guts for baking or snacks! Ethical Pumpkins and Jack-O-Lanterns Thrift or Make Your Own Costume

Anxiety Wellness. We all know that anxiety exists. And maybe you have had some experience with this feeling - but what exactly is anxiety and how do we manage it?! If you resonate with this, come and learn about anxiety, how it may manifest for you and work on understanding those patterns to create healthy coping skills as you navigate your journey on becoming a less anxious person. This group pulls for strategies for managing stress from several approaches (such as CBT and ACT) to help you build your toolbox for anxiety management.
CAPS Anxiety Wellness Group
Anxiety affects everyone in different ways. However you experience this feeling, it's important for your own mental health to both understand it and learn how to manage it.
